Job Placement Assistance

Placement assistance will be offered and will be an ongoing search for the school, as well as the student. NWTA (NW Trucking Academy, Inc.) will be corresponding with various trucking companies in Albany Oregon and all over Oregon setting up an ongoing projection of needed students for the future hiring of the trucking companies for drivers.

The goal is to have a job set up for the student upon graduation. Some students will be trained for a specific employer to do special tasks, such as pulling a Tanker with additional training only needed for a tanker situation. Help will be given throughout the training period with correctly written resumes, as well as helping with the interview process; however, it is the students responsibility to find employment. NWTA cannot guarantee hiring of any job applied for.

Driving School Criteria

  • Must be 18 years old.

  • Must be able to read and speak English well enough to converse, understand traffic signs, respond to official inquiries and fill out required forms and reports.

  • Must have experience or training to safely operate a motor vehicle.

  • Must pass a required physical exam and pass a pre-employment Drug Screen and be physically qualified to drive.

  • Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s license.Must obtain CDL (class A) learners permit, air brake endorsement, and combination endorsement. Help is available if needed.

  • Must provide your employer a list of any violations for which you have been convicted of in the last 12 months; be able to provide DMV Printout of driving record for past 5 years

  • Must not be disqualified to drive a CMV; and You must also be able to determine whether the cargo you transport is properly loaded, distributed, and secured.
